Colorado’s strong, rapidly growing investment services industry is supported by the region’s well-educated and highly skilled workforce.

Colorado has several top-ranked business programs. Bloomberg Businessweek ranked three among the nation’s best undergraduate business schools. The Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver ranked 56th, the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) ranked 62nd, and the College of Business at Colorado State University ranked 90th.

Many business programs offer training to prepare students for financial industry certifications, including the Certified Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Planner, Series 7, and others.

Jobs in the industry are abundant with the region ranking highly among major U.S. metros for creating the most finance jobs, according to Forbes.

Industry Partnerships

The Colorado Investment Services Coalition (CISC) and its member companies partner with area universities to offer real-world learning opportunities through challenges, panels, networking, internships, and ongoing career development.

Key CISC initiatives include:

  • Hosting student facility tours and sponsors the Women in Business Association to promote diversity and provide on-campus access to industry speakers through the Colorado State University’s (CSU) Ascend Program.
  • Serving as a high-level sponsor of the annual Colorado Business School Career Fair, a collaborative effort between the business schools at the University of Denver, the University of Colorado, and CSU.
  • Working with area universities to develop curriculum that is pertinent to industry needs.
